Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of her two appearances on Roseanne. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession until she reached adulthood because her parents were concerned about the adverse effects that stress could cause. Perry confessed that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school. She began doing it to connect with new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, relocated to New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness brought her back to California in search of theater jobs. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a part in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She was also cast in The CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. The character was chosen by auditions, even having a strong connection with it.
